WAITING ON MY FLYERS
For years, people have complained about the post office continuing to rack up debts and continuing to be bailed out by the federal government, with little or no improvement in its business plan.

For many years, a man would deliver the weekly flyers, most of which were grocery ones, punctually on each Tuesday, unless Monday was a holiday. You could almost set your watch by him. He would greet me with a smile, hand me the flyers, and I would say good morning. During the delivery day when I wasn’t home, I would find the flyers on the hooks of my old-fashioned mailbox.
Some weeks ago, I noticed that the flyers were not delivered on Tuesday. I found out that the illustrious post office would now be delivering them, but not in my old-fashioned mailbox.
Tuesday went by — no flyers. Getting the flyers on Tuesday gave you plenty of time to go over them and pick what you would shop for on Thursday, the day the flyers came into effect. On Wednesday, the flyers were in the community mailbox. The next week, the flyers showed up on Thursday. Last week, there were no flyers on Thursday.
Perhaps the government will hand out more money to the post office to see if it can get its act together and at least deliver the flyers on a reasonable day, preferably Tuesday, but I won’t hold my breath.

Tell me it isn’t so! The CBC excels at misinformation, political bias and a total lack of transparency. Its accuracy in reporting leaves much to be desired. Any funding for the CBC is not justified.
