STRONG AND FREE
The last time I checked, Canada was a democracy. As such, it allows its citizens a wide range of freedoms not enjoyed by a large majority of the rest of the world.

The greatest of those freedoms is the right to vote. Speaking in general terms, the people, if they wish, can vote on almost anything. Yes, there is the ability to vote to secede from Confederation. Perhaps Alberta would be right to put separation from the rest of Canada to a vote. Of course, most Canadians, including numerous Albertans, are opposed. But do Albertan separatists have a good reason to leave Canada?
For years — no, decades — the western provinces have been ignored. They’re not needed to win an election and, for the most part, all they get are the leftovers. The bulk of the funding goes to eastern provinces.
Mark Carney can make all the promises he wants to the West, but I don’t see any of them coming to fruition any time soon. So, yes, a vote for separation should be on the ballot.

YELLOW CARD CARNEY
How about awarding the first 2026 World Cup yellow card to Mark Carney for recklessly spending without any accountability, wasting time on urgently needed LNG pipeline projects and infrastructure, arguing with the cost of living referee that he’s done all he can and, lastly, faking that he is actually a prime minister?
