Edmonton police are investigating a fatal collision in the southeast area of the city.

On Tuesday at around 9:10 p.m., a 2006 Smart Car was speeding southbound on 91 Street and 23 Avenue. The driver of the vehicle, a 42-year-old-man, attempted to pass traffic on the right shoulder and lost control near the Anthony Henday Drive overpass, rolling the car multiple times. The man was ejected from his vehicle and was pronounced dead on scene.

The EPS major collision investigations section is investigating the collision. Speed is considered to be a factor.

Anyone who witnessed or has dashcam footage of the collision is asked to contact EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
