Flames erupted from a warehouse near Mount Royal University in southwest Calgary on Monday, firefighters say.
Fire department spokesperson Alex Kwan says crews responded to reports of a structure fire on Peacekeepers Drive at a commercial warehouse at around 6:20 a.m.
When they arrived, crews were led by workers to the warehouse, which had billowing smoke emerging from within.
“Crew stretched hose lines and found that there was a fire that started from a smaller washroom portable trailer unit that had started spreading to the main warehouse building, so crews started protecting the main warehouse building,” Kwan told 660 NewsRadio.
They ventilated the warehouse and pushed back the flames from the trailer.
No injuries have been reported.
Kwan says crews will remain on scene to ensure the fire has been completely doused.
Meanwhile, the trailer and building have sustained damage, and investigators are working to figure out the cause.
